I am in the midst of constructing a 3D printer that was inspired by the Bukito and like some of you I have chosen to go with the E3D Bowden extruder, the Azteeg X5 Mini and of course all the good stuff from OpenBuildsPartStore (see the attached photos). I teach CNC programming and machining in a French-speaking trade school in Montreal, so I had no problem drawing the printer in 3D (using MasterCAM) or machining all the parts. Everything that is aluminum colored in the photos I designed and machined and of course everything black I bought at OpenBuildsPartStore.
I have pretty well completed the mechanical assembly and now I am trying to get the controller hooked up but I 'm having a bit of trouble with all the parameters in the Config.txt file for the X5 Mini. It's like trying open a combination lock by just trying all the possible combinations. I have gotten the printer to move in all 4 axes (X, Y, Z and the extruder) and it can do a Home in the 3 axes but I would swear it seems to be configured in inches instead of metric. I am using Repetier-Host to control the machine (via the USB cable).
3D printer inspired by the Bukito
Build in '3D PRINTER BUILDS' published by Lorne Wilkins, Aug 22, 2016.
I have been working on this project for something like 3 years on and off, sometimes leaving it for a few months. Now I really want to finish it. For me, the mechanical part was the easy (though long) part because I get to use about 17 CNC machines and MasterCAM and I am a machinist. The hard part is the electronics part. Had a few problems getting Windows to communicate to the X5 Mini via the USB cable but found something on the Smoothie forum and got the machine moving.

Special Notes
Anybody have a idea how to debug the Config.txt file for the Azteeg X5 Mini? Which parameters do I do first?

I am semi-retired (the school keeps calling me back!) and when I really retire I am going to miss all my CNC machines and so I wanted one for myselfInspired by
