Primary Changes;
- 2040 extrusion elevated base
- Base mounted Noise dampening Polyurethane feet
- Belt driven X-Axis configuration to reduce width
- Custom Front access Power switch, USB, Collet storage, Router Wrenches, and XYZ Probe
- Custom anodized plates, end stops, and router mounts (wanted something that looked a little different than stock)
Modified Sphinx 55 with MGN12 linear rails
Build in 'Cartesian Style CNC' published by Wes Dwight, Aug 2, 2020.
Inspired by previous Sphinx builds by Sorin (w/ MGN Rails) and Kenneth's witthuhnCNC XKLBR-1S. I wanted to create a desktop unit that kept a minimal profile and neatly contained the PS, Controller, and all wiring, making it a singular unit that could be easily transportable (as it will be doing double duty at my home and at work)

Special Notes
Special Thanks to Chris Laidlaw for the custom Sphinx plates, End plates, Z-axis gantry and custom Z-axis motor mount!
If you are interested in a custom set of plates modified for using the MGN 12 rails and MGN12H sliding blocks, you can buy it from Chris at his eBay store here https://www.ebay.com/itm/264458290488”
All plates were anodized and dyed by myself using Fiery Red and Jet Black dyes from Caswell (utilizing 720 anodizing rule).
