This is my CoreXY printer, Ultra MegaMax Dominator (aka UMMD).
Some of the basic specs:
300 x 300 x 695 mm print envelope
belt lifted Z axis with Rino 30:1 worm gear drive to prevent bed-drop on power loss
8mm MIC6 bed with PEI print surface
750W line powered bed heater- heats the bed to 100C in about 4.5 minutes.
Kinematic mount for bed, stable over temperature changes and does not require readjustment
Duet Ethernet controller and Panel Due 7i (recent change from SmoothieBoard)
500W enclosure heater for printing ABS (does so very reliably)
40 mm x 40 mm t-slot frame construction
White and UV lighting, about 20W of each
Japanese linear guides used in all axes
24V power supply
skate wheel casters on front legs, leveling feet on rear legs
8 mm twin wall PC panels for enclosure that fit into t-slots in the frame
clear PC panels for front of the machine
correct XY stage geometry and belt paths (you'd be surprised how many fail to do this)
stacked 9mm wide Gates glass core belts in the XY stage
10 mm wide steel core belts in the Z axis
mostly F608zz bearings used for pulleys
400 step per rev motors in the XY stage
What it doesn't have:
1) autoleveling/tramming - not needed- construction is stable, bed is flat
2) lots of printed parts - I use metal wherever possible, and always in the structure
This is an early photo of the XY stage. All that has changed is the extruder carriage. Geometry was carefully laid out so that belts segments are parallel to the guide rails, maintaining constant tension at all extruder carriage positions and not distorting print geometry. Pulleys are made from F608zz bearings mounted in square aluminum tubes. Motor mounts are also made from aluminum tubes- very rigid and dissipates heat!
Here's the left side of the XY stage. The X axis has an extra pulley block to allow for thermal expansion of the frame when the machine is heated to print ABS.
Here's the X axis. The linear guide is 24 x 8mm. Notice belts kept parallel to the guide rail, as required for constant belt tension and undistorted print geometry.
Here's a big print- 500 mm tall
This is the bottom of the Z axis showing the Rino worm gear drive, belts, and linear guides.

Reason for this Build
I wanted a relaible printer that could be used to make functional prototypes and parts for other activities and interests.
