I've have been struggling to find a suitable controller/firmware combo that meets these requirements: ARM-based CPU 24V Input for Heat Bed and...
Not as such... the Z axis is mostly stationary, typically only moving downwards during a print job. If I were going to make this into a CNC...

My order of V-Slot arrived today, packaged really well - it's like an early Christmas. :) The technique I used to make printed parts with V-Slot...
I redesigned the X/Y Idler mounts at the back side of the frame to increase the strength and resistance against the belt tension. I've oriented...
Thanks! This is why I love doing most of the design pre-work in Sketchup, it allows me to figure out how it'll go together before I even order...

IIRC, the 60mm threaded steppers with a 500mm length were about $55, with a 2-3 week lead time.
They're going to be 60mm nema17 steppers from RobotDigg, pretty hefty torque at 92oz/in. The Z axis will be threaded steppers, Tr8*1mm lead.

Just ordered the V-Slot rails. The OpenBuilds Part Store team was kind enough to quote me for custom-cut lengths for the following: 2 x 20x60,...
I got a response earlier from them:

The OpenBuilds PartStore says that V-Slot is available in 500mm, 1000mm, and 1500mm lengths. When they state those lengths, is there a tolerance...
Redesigned the XY Idlers on the far end of the frame to allow the nozzles to reach +400 on the Y axis (at the back). The rear rail is now lowered...
Playing with the geometry some more, and coming up with something workable for a dual-extruder setup. Assuming a build plate of 400 x 400 mm,...
So the cost of getting an aluminum plate surface ground is likely to be unreasonable at around $1 per square inch, and it's likely I'd have to get...
Here's another idea that I'm toying with - a MIC6 cast aluminum heat bed, 18" x 18" (457 x 457mm), usable would obviously be less. I can get a...
