Most of the spindles are from china anyways. Just get one off ebay And that's not much.... I paid 90$ US to get my 1 meter rails to Canada.....
If you're doing metal work, you're going to want to stiffen your Z axis from the get go and get a spindle, not a router (low RPM, high torque)....
it aint pretty but it works! :P I'd definitely get a larger drag chain then running 2 on your X though.
you'll want to cut that plastic curtain, otherwise it wont fold up as the material gets under it.
after all that, and you still dont have a C Beam Z axis ;)
