I do like this setup. https://maxdesign1990.wordpress.com/2015/07/06/xy-core-shapeoko-update-2/
Here is a thread on the subject http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?1,499392
yes but if one stepper misses a step. it will be out of sync, and will need calibration and will bind. keeping it to one stepper adds complexity...
I want to avoid multiple steppers per axis. for sync issues. with this config you are driving 5 steppers vs 3.
going 18"x 18" is a good idea (in the long run) I have a 12" build plate that I can salvage from the Makerfarm i3v 12" for the short term.. I have...
The Z Belt definately needs some love and simplification. perhaps I should remove the Cbeams on the Y Axis. and replace with something else.. i...
Adam Filipowicz published a new build: Super Rigid CoreXY 3D Printer Read more about this build...
So i will need to either modify the plate or make a new one to make it work.
I would like to mount the end of a 40x40 v rail onto the middle of a C beam Gantry plate http://openbuildspartstore.com/c-beam-gantry-plate/...
Why not 4 screws one on each corner. vs 3
Trying to make a Digital End Stop for cutting pieces to an exact length. like this http://proscale.com/products/woodworking_related/prostop2.htm...
ideally up to 96" but to make it easier. maxing out at 1500mm for now
Perhaps using a Robot Servo with belt drive Vrail would do the trick http://www.trossenrobotics.com/dynamixel-ax-12-robot-actuator.aspx using...
maybe soemthing like this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Cool-Muscle-CM1-17L30C-Servo-Motor-w-Integrated-Controller-NEMA-17-/321700585511?hash=item4ae6d96027
So a Servo Motor would seem a better solution
I saw a link, someone recommended these steppers with built in encoders http://www.jvl.dk/758/mis-motor-integrated-stepper-motors
do you need a motor encoder on a stepper. I thought it was already built in
I think it would be great to get a chart showing all the standard openbuild vchannel extrusions and the standard lengths that shows estimated...
I already have :)
where did you get that spindle?
