put the bed on today, just temporary setup because it needs to get to work cutting fabric and stuff. just used angle aluminum bolted to the underside to support some 26ga steel sheet, keeps the reflections down
Control panel is done. I've learned that there is a digital ammeter and potentiometer attachment for this specific laser power supply that mimics the display on the PSU, so I have ordered that right away! Finished the control panel
After all this cutting of fabric is complete, the next stage is to try to shorten the Y footprint just a little, need to take 2 inches off to get it under 36", standard width of most doors here.
hey Im interested in making this build.THIS LOOKS AWESOME and right up my alley. Do you have a Bill of materials? Im also not well verse in cad designing and I dont have a 3d printer(i think you said you printed a couple things). do you have any plan files for this?
The only 3d printed parts are the idler mounts and thhe spacers for the Y axis rod in the back, but I'm coming up with an alternate build to put the belt on the inside of the work area, instead of through the extrusion. For the x and Y idler mounts, you can probably mount the idlers directly to the extrusion, and for the x axis use a length of 2020 extrusion and add the idler to that. Rough BOM is in the description tab of the build. I would probably guess I used about 65-70 cast aluminum corners, so that's about 140 8mm screws and tee nuts. So 200 m5 8mm screws and 100 cast corners would be what I estimate, since I still need to complete the top/panelmounts/doors. Something like 3 lengths of 1500 2040 vslot, and 1500mm 2080, but I'll probably change the 2080 to 2040. I bought 10 lengths of 1500mm 2020, but need maybe 4 or 5 more lengths to finish the rest of the enclosure. m3 screws and tee nuts for the linear rail. I think that should cover it for BOM other than the main components I listed earlier.
Hello, I know this is late but did you just drill new holes in the cloud ray head gantry plate included in the head and mirror kit? I’m stuck on the weird msb15 26mmx26mm holes it comes with right now and cant decide what to do.
