I was having issues with probing and saw on the forums that there was a firmware update for the blackbox x32. I preformed the update, but it did not save any of my GRBL settings. I typed them in again from a printed copy, and the machine is running fine with one exception. I am only getting 5V from the 0-10V port on the blackbox. I confirmed with a volt meter at the the pins without the VFD hooked up. No matter what speed I set in CONTROL, the output is either off (S5) or 5V at any speed.

Did something change within the grblHAL settings that is preventing 10V? It was working perfectly before the update, many cuts completed successfully at the correct RPM. The only thing I changed that I am aware of is the firmware update.

I did find the the grblHAL Github a note "A settings reset will be performed on an update of builds earlier than 20230125. Backup and restore of settings is recommended." which explains having to redo settings.

    Any ideas?

Poat your Grbl Settings backup for a review.
Ps: use the Backup / Restore buttons in CONTROL rather than print/type in. More accurate and handles any needed conversion for you

Thank you for your prompt response during a holiday!!! So as is typical when I ask for help, I got home today and fired the system up. Plugged the spindle back in, booted up Control. Told it to turn on, and it did, full speed as before. Problem gone....

Thought it might be a connector issue, but I was testing the voltage at the pins, not through the wiring.

Only thing I can think of is that I had the black box fully powered down over night, including USB power. Not sure I ever did a full power down reboot yesterday when I was testing it, just a GRBL reset as I changed settings. Maybe it just needed a full power reboot?

Never hurts to try a reboot (reset button on front of BlackBox). Glad you are back up and running
