Goodday all fellow CNC lovers, My name is Frik Wolff from South Africa and a newbie in the CNC world I've build a small CNC engraver (3018) and it works 100% My question now, did any of you know, apart from the standard Openbuild Interface, if someone build a simmilar interface for the Arduino Uno with CNC Shield to display and control the Grbl software? Looking forward to responses. Frik [email protected] 0
Hiya Frik I'd be surprised if such a project does not exist, but I would be surprised if it really works well (-: Let me Google... some products available, like this https://www.amazon.com/Rounter-Offline-Control-Carving-Engraving/dp/B083K155XD though it seems a bit cheesy. This might satisfy your DIY gland GitHub - cguerrero1205/LCD_GRBL: Offline controller for CNC with GRBL 1.1 I am not finding anything with a graphic LCD like the Interface, you should have ordered one on 4th July with the free shipping (-: but maybe a small Windows tablet will do just as well with OBControl on it? Peter has mentioned the tablet he uses a few times. ZS6! my father was ZS2AW 73 DE
Hi David, Thanks for the info, I will certainly look it up the $19 +$15 is a bit to much to pay and then not getting the parcel, I am still waiting for a blank pcb from Germany- it is stuck in SA customs for over70 days and still no trace of it. Yes, I'm a DIY addict and will only pay for somethind in self defence (-: ZS2AW? can't recall the callsign will look it up in my logs maybe I'ved worked him in the past. Is he still alive?( was ZS2AW) I am involved in Ham radio since 1970 and love the hobby and electronics! Regards Frik ZS6FZ
agree He died in 2012 and there is a new holder of the call, a lady in East London. Dad was a ham since his school days in the early 1930's. Like him I was a radio operator in the army but never wanted to get a license (university killed any desire to ever write another exam!). Instead I use Wifi and fly RC planes.
