Unpacking parts... Can you believe they arrived (Calgary, Canada) in only TWO days from the UK?!

One of the best packing jobs I've ever seen, boxes + packing inserted into more boxes + packing inserted into a box with paper packing inserted into a final box!

Everything looks first class at first inspection other than the strain relief of the Nema 23 motor wires which are a bit worrisome, might reinforce those...

Baja will be supervising the complete build of course...

Only thing left to order is a controller - My brain is so overfilled reviewing dozens of solutions trying to find a good controller / software combination... I'm tending towards a TinyG + Chilipeppr or a Smoothieboard (thought the built in output is not high enough) and some unknown open source CAM software...

I'll be posting more updates as the build progresses... Congrats. Have fun with your build. The TinyG is a great little piece of hardware. I had one that another forum member now owns. What type of work are you planning on doing with your new machine?

    Thanks Joe,

I'm hoping to build some CF & aluminium parts for both my hexacopter & full sized Cozy Mk IV home-build aircraft I'm hoping to start soon... :)

    LOL! I bet...

Fortunately I don't have to contend with one of those...

Yup, I'm pretty serious about it. I've helped to build 2 rutan canard-pushers and want to build my own at some point... Been researching it for a LOT of years, gathering the best way to build and all the best mods. I hope to start in earnest in the next year or two...

Good for you. A close friend has built a custom canard and it was a journey I hear about often. I couldn't phantom taking on such a task. It must help a lot by having some experience. Thumbs up and keep us posted on your builds.

    Hi
Have you used the router much yet just wondering how's its performing. I'm thinking of get one from ooznest as well. I'm in the UK so delivery will probably be longer for me !! Already built a 4 axis hot wire cnc and use it for RC wings and fuselages.
    Thanks
    Keith

    Hey @Calamari

Looks like you and I have similar interests/goals for our machines. I just put together the Plate Maker from the OpenBuilds parts store with the intention of making some custom plates for multirotors and gimbals, as well as some aluminum parts for motorcycles.

What type of hex is it in the photo? What FC are you running? I currently have a bunch - my biggest being a Vulcan 900mm hex with KDE power and XAircraft SuperX.

Did you decide on a controller yet for the Ox? I ended up with the TinyG after a lot of research. There's a learning curve - but it seems that I've wrapped my head around it now.....partially! :)
