My friend bought a openbuilds cnc router and I am trying to help him with basic set up and cutting. At one stage we position the z-axis to a new lower position and the reset all the axis to zero. The machine keeps going back to the original zero and refuse to save and start at the new position. How does one get it to except the new position on Openbuilds? My machine at home is controlled by Mach3 and it just a matter of clicking on regen and it will except the new z zero position. My second question is about the job list. Because we were trying different settings and played around with feeds, ect, the job list is getting very full. Will the number of files on the list effect the operation of the control interface and how do we delete all this listed jobs (files)?
Has the machine been homed at startup? You should be able to set the Zeros by clicking on the set zero "buttons" on the left once the endmill is in position.
Pop usb back into PC and manage files (delete, folders, move, rename whatever) Highly unlikely. Home. Jog to where origin should be. Click setzero. Jog somewhere else and click Goto Zero. It will return. Watch docs:interface:usage-instructions [OpenBuilds Documentation] Maybe your job crashes into Z on the way up? Or machine slips (loose mechanicals or incorrectly set up Grbl Settings)?
Thank you for the advice. We will have a closer look at 'setzero' again and watch the docs recommended.
