Great looking build @adhd_nerd  I like the use of the angle iron.
Where did you find that nice Estop switch?
Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing

Sweet looking machine ... I'm still struggling with the getting the X beams (full uncut 1500mm) squared with the Y plates.

Looking forward to your initial tests ...

Those are exactly the dimensions I was looking at for a "potential" build of an OX to work on full sheets of DEPRON (80X125cm).

How big is her working area?

Looking forward to your progress ready to steal some good hint

The working areas is about 52" wide (X) by only about 19" deep (Y) once everything is done. But I can work 'infiite' Y by doing sections, once I figure out a good way to align sections (slide the work piece through). I have a few ideas to try out when the time comes ... Could of went with 1000 mm lengths for the Y axis, but that would of made for a huge OX. I might be able to gain a few inches once I test out some ideas for the X/Z assembly ... there's a lot of overhang (cantilever ?), thus potential twisting force on the X beam.

The one thing to watch out for, which I'm having trouble with right now, is to make X square with Y ... there's 1500mm (actually: 1503), slightest 'error' at one end becomes huge at the other end. At this time, I'm down to the last 17.5 mm (difference from one end to other). No matter what I do, I can't seem to get any better ... it's getting on my nerves, especially after rebuilding most of the machine 3 times.

There's a growing number of large builds going on, at least one is looking at splicing two lengths to reach 6' working length (in Y axis). So we'll see how who gets an handle on precision over extended lengths soon enough.
