    Nice work!

Are the SVGs in inches? My CAM package pulls the file in OK, but I think I have the dimensions messed up.

Hi Mike - yes, I have an annoying habit of designing in imperial units. I'm in counseling for it.

At least you're using inches, not pixels... I can work with inches.

Thanks for the clarification, and thanks for sharing your efforts.

how has tying the carriage wheels together with the threaded rod helped the stability? i find my x-carve has some front to back deflection

It helps with front to back deflection. :) Seriously, though, you can imagine how much easier it would be to move 8 independent v wheels (torsion), because of the lever arm effect (from the screw head, through the carriage, past the washer, through the vwheel to the nut. If there was no carriage, you could probably put your finger on the nut and with enough force, move that screw, no matter how tight you had it. However, if that screw continues all the way through, so it is supported on both ends, and is potentially even tensioned slightly by the nuts holding both wheels... suffice to say it is a worthy mod for the x-carve. I bought longer m5 threaded rod, got each one adjusted, and cut off the long end. No big deal. The inside lock nut holding one of the vwheels ends up backwards (too hard to thread on starting with the nylon locking part), so I use a washer to disperse that force. An engineer might cringe at that but it works sufficiently for this application.

Instead of a threaded rod I was thinking of getting 4 m5x90mm socket head screws. And cut off the extra length.
