I am currently am experiencing issues with my BlackBox, specifically Y2-Motor. It developed an issue where it will only drive in one direction. Troubleshooting I have done to date include 1. Verify wiring. 2. Moved the servo from Y2 Motor to Y motor. The servo worked correctly in the Y Motor connection. 3. Moved the servo back to the Y2 connection and it would only drive in one direction again. 4 Moved the X-Axis servo to the Y2 connection and it would only drive in one direction. Conclusion, any servo plugged into the Y2 Motor connection will only run in one direction. All other servos perform correctly when plugged into any other motor connection. I would appreciate any guidance on this issue. Thank You, Tim Smith
When it runs the wrong way, does it run perfectly smooth, or kind of jittery? Any red Exclamation Mark LEDs on in the front? Any events prior to this happening like unplugging a stepper motor while the controller is still powered on, or a wiring break while the power was still on? Also check that the Y2DIR jumper is properly seated (reseat it as a test too) docs:blackbox:jumper-slaveaxis [OpenBuilds Documentation] As the Y axis runs, it means your Brains board is generating a Direction signal. It is passed to the Y2 Driver via this jumper (just wiring the two inputs in parallel via the jumper, very simple)
The servo runs smoothly just as it should, just only in one direction, no jitters. I did remove the jumper and make sure it was seated correctly. The CNC has been running fine, it sat unused for about a week and today Y2 only runs one way. As far as the other items listed I do not remember anything that stuck out as far as wire removals power issues etc.
OK, so smooth running rules out docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation] (was hoping its jittery) and if the jumper is in place the Y2 driver should be getting its signal. http://support.openbuilds.com/support/home will be your next step then
