Seeing as the Dewalt DW611 is darn near impossible to order anymore. Are others such as the DW616 an option using the Openbuilds Dewalt Spindle Mount? Or are there other examples that will fit the bill as most of the manufacturers don't list the diameters of their products?
Yes! Checkout Router11 CNC Kit - WAY better than an Dewalt, proper ER11 precision collets, quieter, lower minimum RPM for machining plastics etc that the Dewalt just melts, proper NSK bearings, and many other advantages Comes with billet adapter sleeve to fit our router mounts included in the kit
1/2" is quite a bit oversized for a hobby grade machine, what did you intend doing with it. Even our 1" diameter surfacing bit has a 1/4" shank: 3 Flute Surfacing Bit You can get ER11 collets from 0.020 up to 0.3125" / metric: 1-7mm
Is the RoutER11 CNC Kit really better than the Dewalt 611?? Aren't brushless motors much more reliable on the long run than the ones with brushes?
Ok but but isn't a brush motor less reliable and efficient on the long run than a Brushless one?? I've tried many and killed many brush motor routers in the past 2 years.
Sure they are, but I want to see someone purchase and install a Brushless Spindle for the same money as a Brushed Motor and its controller. I bought my Router11 when they were available individually and it was more than One Quarter the Cost of a Brushless Spindle and VFD.
Yes you are right, I started with a brus motor and like I mentioned, I finally had to buy two that died before I bought my dewalt 611 that runs like a breaze though a little less quiet. I was just wondering. To me it is not a cost based question more the reliability question. Best regards
My Makita is going on 5 years with no issue. I have Dewalt tools that get used and abused that are going on 17 years. It may have been the quality of your first two brushed routers.
