Hi All, My second post on here and I'm looking for some help. I have a 1500x1500 SPAM 3D mechanical unit driven by a Buildbotics motion controller. On a few occasions it has dropped it's Y position in the middle of a pass. Going from 11xxmm to -600mm or 8xxmm to -400mm. This is bad if not supervised . . . I feel like this is software/firmware related because it happens at different locations on the table and I can't get the error using the jog feature. I will check the leadscrew collet connections as per a similar post and go over the rest of the machine as well but any other thoughts would be appreciated. It has been reliable for smaller jobs (up to 600mm each way) but this larger job has me baffled. Thanks in advance.
The Buildbotics controller looks nice, but has its own support lines on their site, no one here's gonna be able to provide meaningful support. I can't even see what it's running inside, I would guess MachineKit on some kind of updated BeagleBone type hardware since it's self-contained outside of a PC but with proper acceleration, 4 axes, and real IO, but I have no idea. But this seems almost like a buffer overflow bug, which I wouldn't normally attribute to reasonably high-end software. Maybe it's in the web interface.
