I found these motors for a great price and bought them. Of course without any thought as to whether it can be used with the rest of my build. Luckily I am milling custom end plates so I can size them for the rarely used nema 24 size. Will these work with the Blackbox contoller and a 24v power supply? Yes, they should work Nice low voltage coils, low inductance, both makes for a nicer responsive torque curve
Thanks for the response, Peter. Truthfully... when I bought them I didn’t notice they were nema 24 rather than the more prevalent nema 23. So they will likely only be able to be used in a custom machine. If on top of that I couldn’t use the existing controller... well I would have been pissed at myself.
You have no idea how many bins of parts i have in the workshop with similar histories. I aint throwing them away though someday I WILL use each and everyone lol - they do come in handy on those once off projects all the time
Those are nice motors! Wouldn't mind myself having two or three of them. I just checked and shipping to Canada would be more than the price of the motors!
