Guys, I keep looking at the black box and have even downloaded the computer side SW and don't see where you'd customize the pulses per in/mm to use a rotary head or on a machine other than the several sets that are in the pull-down menus of the CAM page. Help a newb to grbl out and tell me how I'd configure this? thanx
Using Vectric's Rotary functions: Rotary Machining and Wrapping - VCarve Pro V9.5 User Guide is the easiest. Plug rotary into X or Y (power off before plugging/unplugging motors)
Dealing with CAD SW is not going to be a problem. My question is how do we get the rotary axis to turn a specific amount or a non-OB linear axis to move a specific amount?
There is a post processor for vectric Vcarve that converts mm to degrees of rotation when using their software. That is what I use on my newly built LEAD Lathe. I also calibrated my y (rotary) axis so that one rotation equals 360 mm. I believe I documented how to do it with the mathematical formulas. It may be in a video.
Great! If you run across it please cross post here. If not, at least I have a good clue on who's posts to look in.
If you mean the video for calibration, this is it. The Vcarve postprocessor is here down the page a bit under "VCARVE JOB SETUP": Rotary Demon Training I thought his build was posted here on OpenBuilds briefly but then it disappeared.
