Whoever thought this to be cute should try to read the sight with this distractive crap dribbling down the screen. I will spend the rest of my day finding alternative vendors for the 142 items in my cart.
Hey Thomas, don't abandon Openbuilds - it's your friend for life! I have to agree though, those bubbles are not good on the eye!
That was a little harsh over a little holiday fun... I'm sure you could have asked it in a nicer way.
That's your choice, and you are free to make it. And honestly, if a few snowflakes across your screen is enough to trigger the reaction you had, I think you may have bigger issues than just a few snowflakes. I speak for myself and not the community, and have no affiliation other than an end user.
Wow I can deal with a few snowflakes in the background. But when they move in and out of my visual field that is a different story. Glad that you enjoy them!
OK so while its fun I can se how it could get to you after an all day forum session So lets make a compromise and turn them off until we are a little closer to Christmas and then we'll bring them back for a bit. The PartStore will stay on, because if we have to shop in the snow up here in NJ so do ya'll!
Thank you, Why not just make the flakes stationary? It is not the snowflakes( they are cute) it is the movement across the visual field that interferes with tracking when reading.
No problem, we want OpenBuilds to be enjoyable for everyone. Good idea on the stationary, something to look into for next year While I'm in here.. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone, hope you and your family's have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead.
Sorry if I came off a little assholish (although I will admit I am one on occasion). It just irks me when people have a knee jerk reaction to something so small (and probably easily defeated by disabling javascript), and your response just stating that you were being a little harsh, and could have said it in a nicer way, is what triggered my response, it was cold, and a slap in the face to OB, who I suspect will end up being a resource for you when you build your system.
Something so small and moving around like that can be a nightmare for dyslexics. I was eventually able to tune them out but it took a fair amount of effort.
Wow that was nice! Have a wonderful Holiday Season. OB was also nice keeping the flakes in the store and turning off on the forum. I was researching a project and was frustrated looking through the forum. Thank you, and sorry to all.
Don't be sorry! I too HATE it when things are moving on the screen, anywhere, unless I watch a video! All those GIFs and advertising and automatically starting video clips annoy me to hell.
