Well just when I though I had everything going good, I decided to Switch from my laptop to an under the desk and inside the cabinet PC. Even put it in a temperature controlled and dust free enclosure. That was the good part. So I loaded up the software from Openbuilds, following the same as I did for my laptop, but although the cable is indicating that its plugged in, but the Gcode is saying different. Its not showing the FTDI USB to Serial COM5. Instead, I only have Motherboard Serial Port COM1 and COM5 to choose from. I should mention that this is a refurbished Gaming PC, if that may have anything to do with it. I'm going to attach a screen shot of the Gcode that its giving me. I greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter. Mike
Your photo show that the software tells you to go to this link docs:blackbox:faq-usb-connection-failed [OpenBuilds Documentation]. Did you try all that to include downloading the drivers?
You are trying to connect to COM1 in the screenshot, which is is not a USB device. Try the other port. But first of course, install drivers, check device manager. Etc
Not sure if I’m installing the right drivers for Windows 10? I picked the top selection to the right, setup executable? When I hook it up to my laptop, it’s operating fine.

Well, then you have a short in your wiring somewhere. Check and recheck against docs.openbuilds.com. Take note of any connectors touching metal chassis etc too
I thought I would update on this issue. There were switches that had been change by someone in this PC before I got it. It was setup for gaming by someone, and the larger video card that had been install was causing an issue, so it was removed. Then we found that there were a lot of updates that hadn't been done. The switches that had been turned off were for the USB ports. They got turned back on. This PC is now Lightening Fast and my second best PC. So it was after all a connectivity issue, just not what was originally thought. Its nice to have a friend who's well versed in Computer systems. Just like any other electrical related issue, its a step by step process of ruling out things until the real issue is found. Thanks Everyone.
