I have a question about my OX CNC machine. I was drilling holes in my waste board for my clamps. I was tired of screwing my workpiece over and over to my waste board and destroying it. After the job was done i saw something is wrong. My holes were not in line, after the eight row they started to go to the left. and the last hole was drilled 2" before it should be drilled. After that I started to cut my clamps, the first one was perfect but the second one was a disaster. It oversteped 1" and went over another clamp. The blue line shows where it should go, and the red line shows where it went. My question is: Is something wrong with my steppmotors? Are my belts to loose, or too tight? Am I going too deep with my Z axe ( I'm using rules of thumb)? Is my router too weak (I'm using Makita rt0700c)? Thank you in advance!
The X axis lost steps. Belts tight? (use a fishing scale to pull to 12kg of tension) Pulleys properly fastened with the grub screws, one screw on the flat of the shaft? Stepper Driver current high enough? Acceleration and/or maxspeed too high? and yes, after checking/adjusting everything you should also at least do a test cut with shallower depth of cut (and higher feedrate, make chips not dust).
