Question - The Z axes homes and debounces properly but when it homes on the y it will freeze there and not debounce.
Ok did some trouble shooting this morning.Just recieved my black box controller the z,x ,y limit switches all stop the machine travel. When i try the homing function only the z will debounce the x and y will not shut off.
There is a Backup Settings button at the top of that screen. It exports it as a nicely readable TXT file
100% sure X switch lights the X indicator and not the Y indicator, and vice versa? (crossed X and Y connections)
Hey mate looks like we are having the exact same issue.Ordered my machine from ali express came with a nvum controller did some research on the blackbox controller and ordered one from maker parts.ca. Nvum wouldnt recognize the usb,.Black box controller picked it up right away thought I was good to go until this homing issue came up, so frustrating dont want to throw any more money at it.Not to savvy on computer skills so if you solve it try and explain it so a newbie can grasp it . Thanks Doug
Does your X motor move during the Homing? As per the thread you quoted from: (Are you 100% sure yours does the same, same alarm when you abort, etc - the minor details is critical) Does your X jog OK? Did you address the different wiring color code of the chinese motors?
Yes they had the motor winding colours on sticker and the z works perfectly , carefully identified motor motor colours to black box.
Yes the x jog is working good. They had the winding colours on the motors carfully matched them up to the black box.
Tried homing again the y hit and then stopped ,the x then moved to the x limit and then stopped. They both moved off the switch a little bit then stopped not clearing the switches enough to reset it like the z.Another detail worth mentioning when i jog in 100 mm increments it will only travel 10 mm on x and y whereas the z goes the proper distances 100 mm jog = 100 mm of travel also got the high torque motors
That means yours is not the same issue as @gilltee was having... Did you calibrate your X and Y steps per mm? (if its off, it won't move as far as it thinks it moved): See gnea/grbl There are calibration wizards under Wizards and Tools inside CONTROL Secondly, if the machine is now calibrated, try a bigger Pull-Off Distance: Set $27=10 gnea/grbl - those lever microswitches need up to 10mm to clear properly You only have $27=5 in the settings backup, 5mm may not be enough to release a lever switch
Hey Peter that was it, the calibration.Got to thinking when I saw a little movement and the jog travel was off maybe thats why the axis wasnt moving far enough away from the switch. When i changed the calibration the axis moved well away from the switch. Problem solved thanks so much.
Took a while, didn't expect it to be that until your more detailed problem description pointed out it wasn't clearing the switch. Glad you are sorted now
Thanks again Peter was shocked when you got back to me on the weekend.Thought the machine was moving a little slow but I just entered the 1510 from the drop down setup and thought that was all I was getting.Quite relieved to see the machine is moving a lot faster now.
Got an ali express version from a company called rezorfell something like that any way wanted the screw driven version only had the belt drive in the maker parts .ca store.Using the black box controller though
Might explains the differences then They must be using something with a different pitch, different step size, etc
