Hi, Any reason why my blackbox is not able to make my hold NEMA 23 "mt-2303hs280aw-ob" move smoothly? They are moving but with a lot of noise and very heretically? I got one "2303hs280aw-ob" Woking perfectly Using openControl on a Workbee 1510 Thanks
Hi Charles, Not sure what Heretically is? but it's usually wiring (polls not properly identified or a loose wire) or current potentiometer needs to be increased. Also I assume still set to default 1600 steps per turn setting (1/8 microstep). Also make sure max speed is not set too high or acceleration. Please post your GRBL settings. Cheers Gary
I just find find out! those are hold version on nema 23. they should not be wired Yellow, green, blue red. They need to be wired this way. Yellow, blue ,red green.
I have same machine, was working perfect, suddenly it started doing is, as soon as spindle turn on(rotating/running) the Z axis starts dipping down, please help/ suggest..
Motors that go bad stop working completely. Intermittent is more likely electronics. Wires break off from back and forth bending over time (multimeter check them while pushing/pulling on them) and EMI from spindles can affect nearby components. Changes in ambient temp/humidity can suddenly cause EMi issues, even if all was running fine
One more question, please, is : NEMA 23 Stepper Motor - High Torque Series, (NEMA 23 Stepper Motor - High Torque Series) a direct replacement for MT-2303HS280AW-OB without any modifications, Please suggest.
It is the bigger one, needs 3A drivers like the BlackBox has. May suffer on smaller drivers like DRV8825s (not sure what controller you have)
I have blackbox, should be fine and it should work, right? Do I need to make any more changes? It should be take rhe oldone out and put new one in, righr?
Correct, and maybe (if needed) turn current setting up just a smidge. Order some extra wire too, motors dont fail the way you mention above, better to have spare wire around when the new motor does the same
None, just turn the current pot up. I would start with this, as maybe your machine is now a bit dirty and the drag is causing the issue. Also troubleshoot the motor before you buy more, all you need to do is move the motor to a different axis and see if the issue moves with the motor or not. I agree with Peter they almost never fail like this, check all the wire connections., swap around cables and motors to troubleshoot. Gary
May be my kids disturbed the dip switch/Rotary Switch settings at the BlackBox, can you please help me/guide me, how to, settings at the rotary switches at BlackBox.
Follow the instructions outlined in the documentation. Its simple and works great. docs:blackbox:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Finally you guys helped me and my machine is working. Is there any way. Please forward me the G and M code list(supported by my machine(1510, blachbox))?
Read github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki supported list is about halfway down on the first page. Then proceed to read ALL of the Grbl wiki, even pages you think are not relevant, exolain how Grbl works under fhe hood
I recently bought : INTERFACE CNC Touch when I am trying to use it and tries to run programs from USB thumb drive it gives me this error(see picture), please guide me why this message and how to fix it.
Have you updated the firmware yet? Should be on v1.47 See docs.openbuilds.com/interface > Firmware update sections That is either an old bug, or you really do not have invalid GCODE. Check the firmware version first, and update if you are outdated. If you are up to date, and it still happens, then you have bad gcode.
You are a great help so far, my next question is, for homing, the button(Clicking Button at computer screen) is not clickable for homing the machine, I had been using it so far without homing the machine, what is I do so that the home button is not available to be used on this machine(I bought this machine used from somebody, did not bought it and set it up myself).
