    Hi.
Just got a bunch of different sizes and was wondering
Are there any cords on the Lead 1010 machine that shouldn't have
Ferrite cores? Just wanna make sure.

    I have clamped them on
    OB Interface cord.
    XYZ Probe cord
all 4 Motor cords and 3 Limit switch cords.
Also on the power supply cord that connects to Black Box.
    And Meanwell power cord

No you can add them to everything. EMi is a mystical beast. We have seen cases where the cnc wiring wasnt the culprit, a spare usb cable hanging out the back of the PC was (nothing connected, it just about acted like an antenna), and even mouse, keyboard cables. so dont rule out other cables either around the PC (if emi was giving you USB problems)

Also, Ferrites helps, but can't do magic. Best to also look at the source of the EMI. Spindle not earthed? Vacuum hose without an earth? Fixing the cause is better than trying to shield everything around it

And watch out for the dreaded ground loop. Single point grounding only, ground only one end (the source end) of all screened cables, one connection to ground from each device. ALL ground connections MUST be star connected to a single grounding point. That alone will clear up 95% of your noise problems. The other 1% is voodoo magic.
