Finally got the Black Box hooked up to my Phlat Printer 3.Turned it all on and the only thing it did was lock up all of my new stepper motors. No software ,nothing.
Did you load Grbl settings? (Especially $4=1 (Enable) is rather important) What was your expectation here? You need to Install the software from software.openbuilds.com yourself?
Head over to our YouTube page (videos link above on the menu bar) and watch the Wiring and Software video for any of the machines. There won't be a video for a Phlatprinter, but the concepts remain the same
Open Builds Cam. Select machine. Not listed to for my machine. A lot of things on the Cam I cannot answer'
Yes, its printed right on the front cover What machine do you have? Pick a similar one if its not in the list, then scroll down and change the dimensions to suit workarea of your machine. From there, play with it. "I tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas" is not the right mindset, this is a hobby with a learning curve. Playing around in software, watching youtube, and building your skillset will greatly help you progress
Do you have any old settings written down from back in the day? Having a read through github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki will help too
Easiest I think is to choose a belt drive machine (workbee?) then calibrate. OBControl has a calibration wizard and this forum has a calibration resource that will explain the mechanics of calibration. It is possible to calibrate a completely unknown machine so the specific numbers loaded do not actually matter. I have described the entire process in these forums before now, you can search for them.
Peter. I still have SKP7 and Mach 3 . for my planes and make G - codes. I can't find the old Driver Boards ,so I had to try and use the Black Box. I still have the Phlat Printer 1. Can't find an old driver board for it.
Do you have your old values to Enter into the BlackBox? Steps per mm is steps per mm, irrelevant of system in use.
