Hello, I’m not sure if anyone can help me I’m new to this. After setting my zero points and starting the job my machine just dives straight down into the material? I’m using Fusion360 and I’ve made a few carves prior to this with no problem at all so why is it suddenly starting to do this?
Checkout Search Results for Query: G53 fusion | OpenBuilds Basically, you either forgot to home (everytime you start), or don't have homing set up correctly
Hope this helps, I had this happen to me recently... I found that the post processor setting for safe retracts was set to G28 when I had always used clearance height in the past. When you go to post process check the safe retracts property, bottom right. You can use openbuilds control to set G28 (bottom right of dro). I ran a couple of simple test programs without a bit to explore the options and decide what I like.
You are taking about the Fusion built in Grbl post? which does a lot of things weirdly (that included) Most of our customers do (and more should) use our Post: docs:software:fusion360 [OpenBuilds Documentation] We use G53 instead of G28 - much easier to understand and homing is a little easier to setup. Besides, G28 depends on homing anyway to reestablish the offset Summary: use the OpenBuilds Fusion360 post. And have standard Homing. Done
Yes, I use the 'Fusion built in Grbl Post'. If you are not using that postprocessor ignore my comment.
The older versions did that fine too... More likely beginners mistake of forgetting to home. Lets hold off on more confusing suggestions until the OP reverts. We see this all the time
