hi can anyone help i want to run g code and my cnc using a raspberry pie is it possible has anyone done this would it work ill use my desktop to draw and create the g code and transfer vie USB stick
thanks m8 looks solid has anyone had results is it reliable i think the pi4 and bits would look way cooler built into a swinging arm but for the price i could also pick up a scound hand laptop so just wandering
If you have to run out for a Pi and accessories anyway, i'd agree rather go for a laptop, all round more flexible and better performance.
I haven't tried it on the Pi4 but on the Pi3 B+, or something similar, and gave up on it. I bought a mini PC, on Windows 10 and it runs perfect with no problem. I found the Pi, with it's Umbundu OS too tidies with all it's permissions and ambiguity. But that's just me.
Thankyou I'll look into that as well laptops are bulky and I'd prop strip it down and make it look like part of the machine rather than a add on which is why I was looking at raspberry it's small.for.factor would make that looking like part of the machine much Easter so the interface mite be just the ticket bepending on price I thanks m8 that's good to know so can anyone confirm the pie 4 is crap and i wont bother
