I just added a generic diode laser to my lead1010 xproV3 Tried to run Laser GRBL and it kind of worked, BUT....LaserGRBL did not have a Z control so i used OB control to lower and set focus. Then went back to LG and set home position for a test svg. When I ran it the Z moved up and down seemingly randomly which changed focus, also laser stayed on during rapid moves. Laser TTL connected to pwm output on V3. then after the run in moved out of area ignoring limit switches, had to Estop it. Is there better free software to use? Or is there a list of what/how to change setting to make it work correctly? TIA
Checkout gnea/grbl to properly configure Grbl And also see Lightburn as a much better application, and configure as per docs:software:lightburn [OpenBuilds Documentation]
How about $4? Well, two x $2 wood cutting boards from the dollar store . 30 min engraving the local "sports team of the weekend" logos, a listing on Facebook Marketplace and you walk out with $50 ($25/ea for an engraved cutting board is on the low end) for these awesome "sports team charcuterie platters", Buy Lightburn, put back the $4. $6 left, buy 3 more cutting boards. Rinse and repeat. Those sell for $75, so week 3 you get 37 * $2 blanks in stock. because you don't have to buy Lightburn this week (; 37 * $25 = ?
