I recently tried working on a project with some thick material. I started by zeroing x, y, and z to the project, then hitting 'Run Job.' Immediately I get a warning that job would be hitting limits. After a couple failed attempts I tried running the same job on a thinner piece of material, so the z-axis was zeroed about half the previous height and I noticed that at the beginning on a job the z-axis steps away from the material a significant amount. So is there any way I can tell it to not step away so much, so I can run with the thicker material? I'm not finding any setting in the OpenBuildControl to change it.
Hi Christian, Look for "Z retract safe height" setting in your cam program.. only needs to be high enough to clear your clamps. Also you might have soft limits set too short, that's a GRBL setting. Gary
