Hello, I am having an intermittent issue on my 1515. I am just getting it up and running and my limit switches seem to be working, then sometimes not... In the openbuilds software the video showed what looked like clicking on them, but that does not work. If I manually press them, they flash on screen that they work and I have to unlock alarm... When I hit the home button, they seem to work, BUT twice now my z crashed into the limit switch breaking the arm off(this last crash, first just bent it) of it like it did not work even though the red light was lit. Same thing for my xyz probe. It shows in the software at times, then does not. Sometimes I can home fine, sometimes I get crashes... I have a screen show of the software, and right now if I manually press any of them they work. I've re-checked the wires and nothing seems out of wack. Not sure if this is a black box issue or a software issue. Any help appreciated.
Its just an indicator of what the controller sees. You don't click on it, you press the switch, and watch the indicator. Video was probably just hovering the mouse over them to show you what was being discussed Exactly what it should do yes Despite the red light on the switch, what matters is whether the signal made its way back to controller (check in software) - failing to the see the switch almost always relates to a wiring issue, like inserting your wire below the cage in the terminal, instead of into it, by forgetting to open the terminals prior to inserting the wires. Or a broken wire, a loose terminal, incorrect wiring order, or similar. Probe needs solid contact (electrical) throughout, clean bit, putting magnet on the collet instead of the bit (more contact area), etc to ensure a solid electrical signal passing through the bit is paramount. Test before initiating a probe by lifting plate and touching endmill while checking Troubleshooting tab until you get the hang of it
Thank you Peter. Just knowing that the software is not clickable is helpful. Will check wiring again as it is very very intermittent. Works most of the time, till it doesn't.
