Good morning from Houston, Texas! I re-built my spoil-board based on John Wylie's design below: (Thanks for the design, John) T-slot Clamping Wasteboard On Dead Flat Worktop. The ONLY issue with this design is the loss of Z axis height. I needed to surface a 2 inch piece but my Z gantry assembly would not clear because of the new positioning of the spoil-board. Everything else about the design is genius. I'm concerned that if I add a high Z modification that I'll then have an issue with my smaller 2" bits reaching the material. Is this a valid concern? If so, would anyone have a suggestion to remedy? Thanks!
With the High-Z your router position is still adjustable - move it lower for short bits, and up for longer bits. All good!
Outstanding. Ordering it right now! The OpenBuilds team rocks. Thanks for always having an answer Peter
