I just want to make sure I'm getting this right. I went through the parts lists for both. This is going to be for 700mm on the X axis. Also, i already have 2 1000mm C-beams and 2 1040mm lead screws from a previous upgrade and they are in good condition. And I've removed the parts from the Lead 1010 that will be replaced in the High Z. I've also got a migraine so I'm not quite ready to trust myself before pulling the trigger. (Edit: list removed for ease of reading. See lower post for spreadsheet.)
The format provided is quite hard to check, perhaps consider putting into a spreadsheet and also, best to discuss custom cuts with the store directly at http://support.openbuilds.com/support/home
Well, I went ahead and ordered it. I've already been in contact with support about the custom cuts I needed. I've followed up to that with the order number. The gantry plates are out of stock, so hopefully they will be in by the time the cuts are done.
Ok, here is the Excel spreadsheet. I removed the links. Some of them don't go to where they say they do. The 1010 is first, and I removed the lines for stuff I already have and what is clearly replaced by the High Z mod. I increased the numbers to match what the High Z adds. The non duplicates in the High Z are after the Meanwell power supply. I modified listed lengths by what I've asked for with custom cuts. If anybody wants to double check on anything I might have missed, I'll add it on. I currently have 2 1000mm C-beams and 2 1040mm leadscrews.
Well, since this qualifies as a custom build, I'm going to have to figure out how to post a build and document the progress.
I'm starting to assemble it and I just found out that I somehow missed the 8mm long M5x0.8 screws from my order. They're on the parts list, I just missed them placing the order. So, I've got to wait until they arrive. Though weirdly enough there was a bag of 4 of them (they come in 10 pks) included. Annoying, especially since it was my screw-up. Other than that, the build is going well. More time to study how to blend the normal and the high-z build videos to minimize extra work I guess.
Well, just need to get the spindle working and I should be good to go. Adjusted the max travel for the smaller X and larger Z ranges. It will home without erroring out.
Just a thought here, but the Y axis drag chain is looking a little tight at the end of the homing sequence. I have about 15 links left over from having a shorter X axis. It should be easy to add 2 or 3 of them into the Y axis chain and provide a little more slack at the end of that travel. Any reason I shouldn't add them in?
