On Monday and Tuesday I was able to generate tool paths and gcode. On Wednesday I could not. Says tool paths and gcode were generated but no tool path displayed or simulation. Any ideas on what I should check?
Checking back to see if you were able to look at the file I sent. Since then, I have opened in CAM past drawings I have been able to create tool paths for and I have the same results. No toolpaths shown and no gcode generated although the software indicates both have been generated. LMK. thanks
Unfortunately you uploaded a GCODE file : Need the OBC file from file > Export workspace of one of your failed setups - as it allows me to view the source file, and what parameters you may have entered incorrectly. Gcode is the final result, and does not provide the insight we need that an OBC file would have
You cleared the "Cut depth: Start" field - default is 0 (top of material) - but by removing the value entirely you are starting at an undefined height - thus failing. Make that 0 in all your toolpaths again. Remember, CAM prepolulates the Toolpath parameters with what you last used, so once you made the mistake without checking all the fields, every new toolpath you added used that same mistake too. Always CHECK all the parameters PS: other tips: - You can select all 4 at once and create one toolpath - less work than creating seperate toolpaths for each (or do what you do - its powerful because its flexible, it does what you tell it to do) - Your outline is DXF-Lines (Not DXF Polylines) so cannot be cut - remember to join loose line segments into Polylines if you want to cut it - There is a lost line segment inside the first part on the left
Thank you. I will make the changes. Original drawing was 1 piece. When the cut was made and approved, I copied the part to cut 4 parts. I added tabs when cutting the 4. I think this is where I cleared the cut depth start causing the issue.
On an inside path it looks like an overcut at the end of the pass. Any thoughts on this? I'm using Auto Cad to generate the DXF.
Looks like something mechanical. Check your machine itself - something is loose. Grubscrews on shaft couplers, wheel adjustment, etc
I’m having trouble setting a toolpath for plasma cutting, like inside or outside cut... I’m not sure if I missed a box to click on or if something else is happening
Ok. The video is much more helpful than the Facebook pictures. You did not create a tool path. You have to select the vector so it turns red, then you have to click "Add", then choose how you want it cut with "create new operation". Then you will get these options Then your tool path will show up here: and then you generate Gcode. When I skipped those steps, I got the same thing you posted on Facebook(reading children error):
Yes!! the second photo, I made a square, clicked it to turned red. clicked the add tab it gave me " create a new operation" clicked that and my options are apply and preview toolpath and close. click the apply. somehow i don't get the option to " configure the toolpath parameters. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this, much appreciated!!
I zoomed my screen in to look like yours and this is what I get. My screen is zoomed to 175%. If I just back it out to 150%, I can see the other menu option you are missing. So my guess is you are zoomed in too far on the web page. I did not notice that last night. I normally have my screen zoom set to 125% because my eyes are getting old. The OpenBuilds CAM defaults to 90% zoom.
