I've ordered a 1.5kw 110V spindle/VFD for my 1500 x 1500 Lead.....the Dewalt is already showing signs of wear. Is there or does anyone already produce a mounting plate for this unit? The bolt pattern is 81mm on center so bolting it directly to the 80mm C Beam won't work. 1.5kw spindle image.jpg

I have not seen one, but you could easily draw one up and cut it out of aluminum with your existing CNC machine. Or, get a cbeam plate, and use your existing CNC to probe the plate to find the Center then using the existing files provided by OpenBuilds in the resources section, make the holes on side into slots by widening about a millimeter.

Ya, I can get one made, but I thought why reinvent the wheel if some else has already done it.

I have the same situation. I found a Great deal on a barely used Ooznest 750 x 1000. The original owner upgraded the gantry plates to add 2" and it came with an unmounted 1.5kw motor and VFD like the one in your picture.

I've determined a 1/2" x 4" x 6" aluminum plate should work in my case, and I'm in the process of figuring a way to make it adjustable for sideways movement of the motor so I can tram it in. Considering the weight of this thing I'm sure I'll have to shim behind it to correct for forward tilt as well.

I don't have it up and running yet or I would use it to cut the plate. Though I do have some machining experience I'm new to the CNC world. Old School of you will. We're talking back in the 60s (ish). LOL!

If you come up with any ideas concerning the adjustment concept please post them, I'll do the same if I think of something.

My initial thought is going with one size smaller bolts than the holes on the motor to give me a little bit play. I plan on going with a 1/4" plate to mount the spindle to Z C-Beam. Spindle mounting plate.jpg

Would anyone be willing to make this mounting plate for a LEAD 1515?
I have the same spindle/VFD combo and a machinist I am not...
I will pay to have to made!

Just wanted to follow up on this, Chris responded extremely fast, asked pertinent questions and had the plate manufactured and shipped inside of 2 days!
I got the plate, mounted my spindle and VFD and am happily carving away!
I highly recommend Chris for any custom plates, mounts, etc.
