Hello I building my second CNC machine which brought some part from my first machine including the 24V power supply. The thing is, my new machine gonna equipped with NEMA34 stepper which I have seen some suggestions to use at least 48V for this stepper size. Is it gonna cause a problem to use 24V supply for NEMA34 stepper motor? Thank you for every suggestion. Tanwa
Thank you for your reply My stepper driver are Chinese one, they can attend maximum 48V. Seem to be no problem with the driver. Thought I just curious that 24V power is sufficient to drive Nema34 motor to the workable conditions or not?
Specific make / model no would help Depends on motor specs: inductance, resistance, current etc. Again, providing actual details will allow us to answer you.
Oh.. sorry they are NEMA34 motor 2 phase 5A current Resistance 0.31 ohm per phase Inductance 2.7 mH per phase the drivers are TB6600 (HY-DIV268N-5A) Stepper Motor Driver Peak 5A, 12-48 VDC 2-phase
That's 1.5v coils - 24V is sufficient overhead for most good drivers to do their job on these. Not so good though
What is the point of TB6600? Haha Could you explain more why it is not good? Can it be used with this motor?
