So - today I'm milling a sign and it starts up just fine - it runs for a few minute and I leave it unattended. I check on it about 20 minutes later and I discover that the machine has jammed itself against one side of the gantry (a limit switch has failed, due to improper placement). The steppers are still on at this point, and Interface is still working. I turn the black box off for safety, and rotate the steppers away from the side of the gantry and while the cooling fan turns on in the BlackBox nothing else happens. Interface is not on, the steppers are not engaged, and the stepper lights are not on. Does anyone have any idea where to start on troubleshooting?
rotating a stepper motor makes it generate voltage, so moving the gantry generated enough volts to make the fan turn. if you MUST move the gantry by hand, do so very slowly to minimize the volts generated and fed backwards into the controller.

I just created a second one (sorry) - still no reply to either ticket via email - the forum system sends them quickly though
