    Hello all.
I'm new here to this forum. I recently got a LEAD 1515 with blackbox and interface. I not new to CNC. I already buit a Plasma CNC mach3 machine that as been working fine for the last 6 years. This time I decided to build a CNC router that I'm going to need for some projects. I decided to go easier this time by purchasing a Complete kit, as the time I spent working the parts needed would be a bit of a time constraint. Finally finished the build and everything is working as it should..., but when i was about to start a small test drive i realised my X axis was not right. When i jog the cut head, Z and Y axis work fine +/- . The X no. For instance if i jog X+ it moves correctly. When i press X+ again it might move the opposite direction althought the information is increase X Value wich is correct. When i go X- it might go - or + randomly. I of course checked all cables and plugs, everything's fine. The spindle was not on or even powered on. So I'm lost. Do i have a bad blackbox driver?
    Thanks

Did you check your wiring with a meter? I ask because your symptoms are exactly what you could expect if one wire to the X stepper was only making intermittent contact.
This link contains information on troubleshooting the short of problems you are having (not just what the title suggests).

Wiring: that is a classic symptom. See the symptoms in section 1: docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation]

Edit, sorry Alex, i missed your reply, but oh well doubly confirmed :)

Yes I checked for continuity in motors and connected acordingly. All other axis are fine. Unless one x motor is not working properly. I'll try tomorrow to switch x with z plug in blackbox to see how it goes.

Reread the FAQ page, it covers more than just wiring order.

Have a look at the section headed "Troubleshooting", @Tony Rebelo .

    This page
The page we referred you to for your issue, linked as well, to which you replied that you did identify the coil pairs (note the FAQ page i linked deals with other points as well, not just that one) after which I asked you to return to it and re-read it (note the section on how its either coil wiring order, OR 3 of the 4 wires making solid contact OR to also test your extension cables :)). Further down the page is a process to help you test.

Note its inside the BlackBox FAQ menu section, thus I referred to it as “the FAQ page” as I already linked it earlier. It is a page dealing with the Frequently asked question of your specific motor issue, which is always wiring :) in some way

Is Section 1 of the same FAQ page. Click the link and read it :)
