Has anyone ever expanded their Lead 1515 to accommodate a full size 4x8 sheet? I just bought the 1515 and have yet to assemble. I also bought the Z-axis expanded height parts to use instead of the stock. I could really use it for more mass production if I could nest on a full sheet rather than having to cut it in half every time first. On a side note - does anyone have plans they'd be willing to share for a Panel Saw setup?
Get some roller stands, cut the first half of the sheet, slide it through and cut the second half . Seriously, there's a limit to how long you can make the machine without significant other modifications. The standard leadscrews won't work well at that length (if you can even find any) so you would have to look at alternatives like rack and pinion. The extrusions used for the framework will flex quite badly at that length as well. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it's a lot more work than might first appear to be the case. Alex.
This is going to save me a ton in money and time! I initially bought it to make my kitchen cabinets from scratch but quickly realized I could use it to do a ton of other projects to sell. I've got customers waiting already and being able to expand past the 48" will bring in the big bucks. Now all that's left is to assemble it, learn all the software, and learn how to run it all... Thank you!
