Cant thank you guys enough for your patience. So if i enter the new improvred g code in the touch off sequence did the rest of that code i sent you look like it should work
You do want it to be accurate, so maybe dial it back to Z-5? The more accurate, the better the cuts Right, so stringing all this together, your touchoff macro should be: G38.2 Z-20 F100 G10 L20 Z-7
Well, worth a shot, I see you have your pierce height at 4mm (feels high, usually for a 50A its more like 1.5-2mm) 1 Second pierce delay may be ok, but check on thicker plates you may need longer. Not too long or it will extinguish the arc
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the forum Im back,Ran this code. Z went down and kept goingdown to floating head switch and that was it.
Post the Serial Log from the Serial Console terminal for inspection (it shows what commands was sent, any OKs or errors, etc that followed)

Great but a section of the log with the job where it stopped would be better (; I.e. grab us a log excerpt from the window demonstrating the problem you experienced above ^ Click RUN JOB - see the scrolling log, when it stops, thats the bit we'd be interested in after all. so we can see what "that was it"
Will do, see below for the line in question. [09:25:49] [ [external from hardware] ] OpenBuilds CONTROL received a FEEDHOLD notification from Grbl: This could be due to someone pressing the HOLD button (if connected) It hits the 'z' floating head switch and stops. I will also add the entire log if it helps. Have you got anything connected to the Door input? docs:blackbox:connect-door-sensor [OpenBuilds Documentation] (That is also the FEEDHOLD input)
Disconnect that - then try again (Emergency stops should hard cut power - a software based feedhold will do nothing in a real emergency - except lure you with a false sense of safety!)
Ok that seemed to work havent turned on plasma cutter yet will get back to you after i try that.Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou
Before running jobs you really should have done a shakedown of bits as and when you added them (; In CONTROL > Tool On menu - Does that ignite trigger the Plasma? If not: 1) Is your Relay Jumper correct: See the "TIP" Section of docs:blackbox:connect-plasma [OpenBuilds Documentation] and also docs:blackbox:jumper-relay [OpenBuilds Documentation] 2) Is your Plasma Inverter wired correctly as per docs:blackbox:connect-plasma [OpenBuilds Documentation] 3) Is $30=1000 in Grbl Settings
When I went to tool tab and hit plasma air came on immediatley when i hit run job torch came on before it started moving got 3/4 of way around the square and plasma turned off before completley cutting out square.Plasma tripped breaker had it on 30 amps on a 15 amp circuit I have a little stick welder that i run as much as 70 amp output but have never had a problem. The plasma cutter has a 2t nd 4t position 2t arc starts when trigger is pushed and shuts off when trigger is released 4t you have to push trigger to start and hit again to stop. Pretty sure when dr flo cut out sample square only had it plugged into a 15 amp circuit.
I need a 32A breaker for my 40A plasma and 150L compressor, because if the compressor kicks in while cutting, it trips a regular 25A breaker. Thats at 240v (I'm actually in South Africa) See below: At 110v its pulling 7.6KVA, or 4.2KVA on 220v Welder is 70 Amps at what, only like 15-30v output? Plasma is up to 50A at 96v! (Nominal) Much more power Watts = Amps*volts remember... You want the 2T option then - relay triggers on with M3, and off with M5 Cut height too high, air pressure too high, wrong consumables fitted to torch, worn out consumables in torch, dirty metal (rust, paint), too fast feedrate, etc could all cause mid-cut extinguishing. Controlled by the value in Pierce Delay - it starts the plasma above the material at Pierce Height, waits as long as Pierce Delay to give arc time to penetrate through material, then moves to Cut Height and starts moving. You have to dial in the right parameters through trial and error
Everything Seems to be working except torch will not come on at the right time figure that might be because of that $30 = !000 setting you asked if that was entered in the GRBL settings cant seem to find where to enter that. Only comes on when i hit the tool on switch.
CONTROL > Grbl Settings > Scroll down to $30 Max RPM and enter 1000 in the field to the right of the description. Click SAVE on the toolbar at the top. By default it is 1000, just make sure you didn't change it If that's not it, listen if you can hear the relay click on when it should. If it does, check your Cut/Pierce heights
Great way to end year am a happy camper right now cutting 1/8 plate like butter.Just wanted to take the time to thank the openbuilds team for there patience in dealing with such a noob.Only took 21 enquiries to get here lol.Happy new year guys
