Wow. Sorry I missed the trouble shooting....I’m glad you got everything working. Trust me, I went through all the same steps....like I said, it’s extremely satisfying when everything works for the first time
Hello All, here I give some news of my assembly VFD Y620-A 1.5Kw 220V works pretty well at the moment except a few points. (1 ) a small default that bothers me is that when the spindle comes down, the start-up is done slightly late (already in 0.2mm contact) with the material. (2 ) my other concern is the rpm, I tried in ($ 30 = 1000. Max spindle speed, RPM) 24000 but the spindle does not start! so I don't really know how I run in rpm ... if you have any leads? I attach my current parameters Thank you in advance.
hello @DxN32 I do not understand why P00.00 = 400 It is supposed to be input line which is 50Hz in Europe and 60 Hz the other side of the Atlantic ? thanks to clarify !
Hi I have the YL 620 and am connecting it to the Black Box. Do I need to change any jumpers with this configuration and does the Black Box control the speed with this configuration??? Kind of a newbie here so any help would be appreciated. Thank You
Why am I getting far less cutting power? I recently purchased the YL620-A VFD and used the setup shown below, changing the following settings to enable manual control via the VFD itself. the settings I changed from the initial post are as follows: P00.01 = 0 P07.08 = 0 My problem is thus: I am upgrading from a Makita 1.25HP Router to the 1500 watt 110volt 400hz spindle. (Approximately 2.0 HP) The spindle is bogging down and is not able to cut more than 0.01 inches Depth of Cut and 70 ipm at 15000 rpm in Red Oak with my 1 inch surfacing bit. My 1.25 HP Makita is able to cut routinely at a DoC of 0.09 inches with a feed of 70 ipm at 15000 rpm. (My spindle runs backwards, REV is FWD and FWD is REV - if that matters any. So why am I getting far less cutting power? As noted above, here are the settings I used. factory reset P00.13 = 10 Cycle power and change the following settings: P00.00 = 400 ; Main Frequency P00.01 = 0 ; (CHANGED FROM 1) P00.03 = 1 ; Stop Mode: 1=Coasting Stop P00.04 = 400 ; VFD Highest output frequency P00.05 = 400 ; VFD Maximum Voltage Output Frequency P00.06 = 110 ; VFD Highest output Voltage P00.07 = 140; VFD Middle Frequency P00.08 = 35 ; VFD:Middle Voltage P00.09 = 120 ; VFD Minimum Frequency P00.10 = 30 ; VFD Minimum Voltage P00.11 = 110 ; not sure P00.16 = 1 ; 1= REV(X6) Determine direction:Open Yes FWD,Shut Yes REV;FWD(X5)Start command:FWD Stop,REV Boot P01.04 = 110 ; Overcurrent Setup P01.16 = 100 ; Direct start Initial frequency(Improve start Torque) P02.00 = 105; When speed up torque will increased P02.01 = 100; Deceleration time - Torque Boost P03.08 = 120; Panel potentiometer, frequency given of lower limit P03.09 = 400; Panel potentiometer, frequency given of Upper limit P03.12 = 30 ; Analog lnput 1 frequency given lower limit P03.13 = 400 Analog lnput 1 frequency given upper limit; P04.11 = 1 ; Stopping Mode: 1=Coasting stop P06.00 = 0 ; Acceleration Time P06.01 = 8 ; Accel.Time 1 P06.02 = 8 ; Decel. These forums are a fount of irreplaceable wisdom and my garage build would not have been possible without them! -Dan
If you could run the parameters past the seller, they usually know what they should be for the spindles they supply
Thanks! I found the parameters for the VFD but they are the same you posted (at least to my feeble understanding) and settings could not find entries for in the manual. Here is the VFD Params for the makerstore kit I found 1.5kW Air Cooled Spindle Bundle - Maker Store USA VFD Specifications: Input Voltage: 110V Output Voltage: 208-240 VAC ( analogous to Input Voltage ) I found at P11.01 But only settings are 0,1,2,3 with no documentation in manual to state what they mean Input Frequency: 48-63 Hz Output Frequency: 0-400 Hz Input Phase: 1 or 3 phase as you like I found no mention in the manual where to find this setting Output Phase: 3 phase I found no mention in the manual where to find this setting Control Mode: SPWM I found no mention in the manual where to find this setting Input Power: 110V class:110±15% 5 Digits Display & Status Indicator Lampisplaying frequency, current, revolution, voltage, counter, temperature, FOR or REV rotation, and fault, etc. Working Temperature:-10~40 ℃ Humidity: 0-95% Relative Humidity (without dew) Vibration: Below 0.5G Dimension: 22 x 18 x 21 cm (L x W x H) The spindle comes up to speed but does not have the cutting power that a router half its rating has. Has anyone else set this spindle up successfully?
I have the same VFD. I had just hooked up the 110V to it and connected the three wires that go to the spindle. My spindle is similar to yours. I didn't putz around with any of the settings, just turned power on and the spindle ran like charm and still does. I never changed ANY of the default settings.
Mine works perfectly, but it's a 220V. 8A 400Hz I use the BlackBox, Aspire Vectric, with I can adjust from 5000rpm to 24000rpm. CNCjs with which I can turn my spindle on and off. I do not know if my parameters can go on the 110V spindle ??
Just a heads up. I changed this one. P03.12 = 30 ; Analog lnput 1 frequency given lower limit. I changed that value to 0. Because if there was no signal then the vfd was trying to output 30.
Hello, I have these exact same settings and the same spindle but as soon as I connect it to Black box the spindle doesn't work. Do you know what could be wrong. 1. When I use the controls from the potentiometer from the vfd, the spindle spins up and everything all the way to 400 hz. 2. I am getting 10 v signal to from the Black box and have connected it to V1 port and Ground from the black box boes to GND to the VFD. When I change the speed using open builds I see the frequency change but the spindle doesn't rotate. 3. i have the same program values as the ones in your post. I am kind of stumped at this point and don't know what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thank You in advance.
I would check the wiring to the spindle that it’s the correct orientation. Check the spindle with just the vfd. Make sure it works with the vfd. It might not be black box or the vfd settings.
Do you mean if u,v,w correspond to 1,2,3 on the connector? I was told that the order didn't matter as long as 4 (ground) went to ground and the spindle rotated in the forward direction. And if the spindle is in reverse then I just need to switch any two of U,V,W wires in the VFD. So when I just connected the spindle to the VFD with a setting of [P 00.01 to 0] and [P07.08 to 0] so that I can use the controls on the VFD panel. I was able to control the frequency with the potentiometer knob. I think the spindle is hooked up correctly but as soon as I connect the [V1/Gnd to blackbox] and [fwd to xGND] in the VFD and change the program to [P 00.01 to 1] and [P07.08 to 3]. It stops working. When I change the speed from the blackbox controller to M3 S12000 i see the frequency on the panel go to 200 Hz but no movement on the spindle.
Hello, I am new to the forum, I recently acquired a YL620-A with a 1500W / 220V motor, I have tested it and apparently it works well using my own keyboard, I also configured to control it from an arduino and it also works well, but my intention is in use it halfway, that is, I want to control the starting and stopping of the motor with arduino, but the motor speed I want to control it manually with the potentiometer of the drive itself, I have been looking at the settings but I cannot find information for this way of working , I already have the doubt if it is possible to do what I want, does anyone know if it is possible? , configure it to control only the start and stop from the outside and that the frequency control is done with the internal potentiometer? Thanks in advance and greetings from Spain. P.D. I apologize for my English but I have to use the google translator and I don't know if the translation will be comprehensible enough.
Checkout docs:blackbox:connect-vfd [OpenBuilds Documentation] and replace the Arduino with a BlackBox Motion Control System
Hello everyone. Help connect YL-620 to work together with NCStudio 5. Maybe someone has encountered their work.
Thanks. So I'm not setting the upper and lower limits of the input coming in, I'm just telling it to work from an external analog input? Also I don't see a parameter for minimum RPM, is there one?
Thanks, So: P00.01 = 1 P07.08 = 3 Calibrate the 0-10v output (measure without VFD wired in). No other settings on the VFD for the 0-10v input? $30 = 24000 $31 = 0 P00.04 = 400; (=24,000 RPM maximum?) P00.09 = 120 (=8,000 RPM minimum?) P03.12 = Should this be 0 or 30? Original post says 30 but seems like others on this post say 0
Hi Guys, I have am YL620-A 1.5kw 220v VFD with an OpenBuilds Blackbox workings almost perfectly. This thread helped me a lot how to put it all togheter. The only thing that I think it is missing is that every time I need to use my CNC I have to press RUN on VFD first to use it, since when it starts there is no status set. If I don't press RUN first the VFD doesn't enter in the run state and the spindle doesn't run. This is the parameters that I am using (all the rest are default): P00.00 = 60 ; Main Frequency (0-600Hz) P00.01 = 1 ; Start Stop Source: 1=External P00.03 = 0 ; Stop Mode: 0=Decelerate to Stop 1=Coasting Stop P00.04 = 400 ; VFD Highest output frequency P00.05 = 400 ; VFD Maximum Voltage Output Frequency P00.11 = 100 ; Analog Imput Quantity (0-100%) P00.16 = 1 ; 1= REV(X6) Determine direction: Open Yes FWD, Shut Yes REV; FWD(X5)Start command:FWD Stop, REV Boot P01.00 = 0 ; REV Rotation Select (0 - Enable, 1 - Forbidden) P03.09 = 400; Panel potentiometer, frequency given of Upper limit P03.12 = 0 ; Analog lnput 1 frequency given lower limit P03.13 = 400 ; Analog lnput 1 frequency given upper limit; P07.08 = 3 ; Frequency source selection 1 (3=Analog Input.:P03.10~P03.13) P12.00 = 8 ; Rated Motor Current P12.01 = 220 ; Rated Motor Voltage P12.02 = 3 ; Motor Pole number P12.05 = 7 ; Converter rated current(A) P12.06 = 220 ; Converter rated Voltage(V) Is there any way to set the VFD state to RUN when it is turn on? TIA!
