Hey all. Building the 1515 now and I wanted to know how much room is required to operate the machine as opposed to its footprint. thanks a bunch

Approx a foot extra left and front is plenty - but of course it depends on what you want to do. If you want to put a laptop down next to it, plan for that, space to move stock in and out of the machine, etc

ive got a spot set up for peripherals and whatever else I need in regards to work logistics. I just have to add to a 4x8 work table. access from the front is not an issue and the backside will have 4 more feet if I need to try and tile a large piece. I just need to add to the side of my table. thanks a bunch for your help.

another question about this build. where do you run the router power cable? is there a reason its not in the drag chain?

EMI avoidance: See docs:blackbox:faq-emi [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Routers create a lot of electromagnetic interference. Putting router power cable in the same chain as low voltage limit switch cables for example, can cause false triggers and other symptoms of interference (Crosstalk between wiring in close proximity - spacing them away from each other helps)

You can try it first, and if you have issues take it out again

sounds good to me. looks like youre one of the dudes in charge here...im pretty close to wrapping up my build and im starting to have some questions. the build is basic, not a problem. ive started to tinker with your software. does it have inch functionality and how if you have an object, do you move the object without moving the whole workspace? thanks./. jc

I have mine plugged into a ceiling outlet above the machine. There is plenty of cord to move everywhere without being in the way.

Moving object: switch to the Move tool or use the Transform tool (toolbar on the left)
    Metric only at this time

Mac doesn't have a middle mouse button so it does act weird sometimes and send mouse events that does not reflect what it should be. For those use cases, as mentioned, a second option exists:

or even better, before exporting, in CAD position it properly

If you have a Windows PC with a regular mouse you can use the mouse interface better
