I plan to build a C-Beam Linear Actuator to mount on top of my CNC Milling Machine table in order to lengthen the X-Axis travel on the machine. My present mill has a 15" X-axis travel and I need to drill multiple holes for a 36" distance. I am going to mount a stepping motor on the unit that has the same specs as the one on the machine. I will build a control box will allow me to choose which 'table' needs the input. The ball lead screw on my present machine is 5 turns equal an inch. So, I will need to use the same one on the unit. The machine manufacturer has said that it should work fine. As long as I match the spec of that ball lead screw and motor on my kit? How do I do that. Thanks, Joe
Well, after consulting with the tech, I found that I cannot modify the kit to use my components. So, I have decided to use the kit just as it is. Besides an interface controller what else to I need to make up a working unit? This way the auxiliary table and the CNC table will both move independent of each other. Thanks, Joe
Interface is the "user interface". You also need a BlackBox (docs.openbuilds.com/blackbox), a power supply, an Xtensions Limit switch for homing and some wiring
Yes! BlackBox Motion Control System INTERFACE CNC Touch (Or a computer running OpenBuildsCONTROL from software.openbuilds.com) 24V Meanwell Power Supply Bundle Xtension Limit Switch Kit Xtension Wire Set - 3 Conductor (Between switch and BlackBox) Xtension Wire Set - 4 Conductor (Between Motor and BlackBox) Power Supply Wire - Standard Length (Between Power Supply and BlackBox)
Peter- Thanks for all info. Is there any place than I can see the actual dimensions of the kits and the components? Joe

The openbuilds interface input. Can you input g-code directly into the interface with a USB drive? In what 'file type' does it need to be. My mill needs a txt file. Thanks, Joe
