I would like to request a new function when running Probe Wizard. When you select Probe from the menu, the next screen gives you 2 buttons, Confirm Probe Position and Probe. Could you please add a button to check the Probe circuit electrically then un-grey the Probe button? I now go into Troubleshooting and then touch the probe to the bit to get a Green indicator on the Probe input. It would be really handy to be able to just go to one screen.
Thanks for the suggestion, however your wiring should be solid, and your workflow reliable too (for example, clip magnet to collet nut if your bits doesn't provide reliable contact due to coatings, oil or dirt) that you don't need to check every time.
My issue is my probe wiring runs through the wire channels and has a small jack that is mounted to my router mount. I plug my wire from my probe into the jack but if it gets dust in it, it doesn't always make contact. I think this is the way my old X-Carve was wired and I carried it over to my WorkBee since I use the same hockey puck shaped probe. It only has about 10 inches of wire on it. I guess I could re-wire it but then I'd have a couple feet of extra wire attached to the probe laying around. GSender software has this feature but I'm very happy with your CONTROL software so I thought I'd ask for the feature. I would think lots of others would like it too since you wouldn't be able to probe until the contact completes testing the circuit. No more broken bits when the router plunges into the probe because a wire was broken.
Yes see that's not typical around these parts and adds a point of failure into your setup. Consider a different plug/socket that is not so easily upset by dust.
