If you want to learn how to use AutoCAD 2015 and are a student you can get a three year license for free. This a non commercial use license. http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad
unrelated to open builds, I will have to check out the easter eggs in this 2015 version. I remember the 2014 one has a built in first person shooter game, hidden well enough to make it a pain for me to bring it out. wonder what 2015 has in store... after all, nothing like a quick game after hours and hours of 3d drawing in cad.
can't say I used all versions, some were not worth it, but I started in the 90s, when autocad was something like ver. 2.0 or so. however, regarding the 2014 easter eggs, I found out about them from the net. if you like to mix work with a bit of pleasure, please see link below: http://adndevblog.typepad.com/autocad/2013/04/autocad-2014s-incredible-easter-egg-surprise.html comes with a few screen grabs. enjoy!
nick, try it first, then let us know how it works. it sure worked for me, even if I had a crappy mouse at the time.
I supported R12 through AutoCAD 2000, people really didn't want to upgrade. It was great when the company I worked for dropped support for R11 through R13.
I don't know why he keeps using it, especially since he complained he cannot find many 3d parts online in the r14 format. you know what they say, habit is a second nature..
