Hi Just looking for opinions or recommendation as to the best place to permanently locate a Tool Touch Off device on a Lead 1515 machine. Apart from this device for tool measurements, I do have a XYZ probe as well which will be used for set stock WCS. My XY0 is bottom left corner What would work best??
Absolutely anywhere (You can programme your macro to use Machine Coordinates to locate it) - as long as it doesn't get in the way of where you typically place stock - move materials through, etc - where it won't get bumped in your typical workflow
Hey thanks Peter So there's no convention or standard placement or anything like that ... Ok, so I guess back left corner it is

I used a simple NO metal switch from amazon as a tool probe and it works great. Repeatable to within a thou or so. I wired it into the probe sense and ground, and drilled a hole in my spoil board. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07931588C
Hi Guys so an update to this thread I managed to drill into the spoil board and mount the Tool Touch off near 0,0 ... with this location I've lost probably 30-35mm off my X which isn't so bad, still plenty of room to work on. This TT was wired into an input in the Acorn and is defined as a Tool setter. The OB XYZ plate is also wired into the Acorn and through an App written by a user on CentroidCNC called ProbeApp. Both are working mighty fine Routine is that after a manual tool change it goes off to the fixed TT position and check tool length, and the XYZ probe is only used to when checking your stock position and height
