Hello all, I would like to know what kind of dust extraction you all use on your machine. I myself bought a Makita 3012L vacuum cleaner three years ago. It is a vacuum cleaner that can reduce the suction power and to which a machine (router) can be connected, in such a way that when I switch on my router, my vacuum cleaner also switches on. Now after three years only my vacuum cleaner has broken and repair costs me almost 100 euros. Can you let your vacuum cleaner run with the router for that long (say 4 hours a day), and if so, which vacuum cleaner? When my vacuum cleaner is ready again, I don't dare to let it run at the same time as the router. Would like your advice on this. Sincerely Bert Klappe
Around the Lab we quite like the Harbor Freight dust extractors, we talk a little about it in the video below: (around the 2min mark onwards)
Hello Peter, Somehow I can't check the site and get the following error code. Error 405 Not allowed Not allowed Error 54113 Details: cache-ams21066-AMS 1655382060 3548895760 Varnish cache server
Ahh you might not be in the US? Harbor freight sometimes blocks other countries for some reason Check local tool/woodworking suppliers - plenty of 1HP Dust extractors - purpose built works a lot better than a repurposed vacuum cleaner
Hallo Peter, I'm from the Netherlands and that's why I can't seem to get to that site. I have already found some other machines that might also be sufficient. I had 1 of those extractors myself and I sold it to a friend last year together with all my machines (saw table, crosscut saw and plane thicknesser. I also tried that dust extractor on a milling table and had to reduce the diameter of the hose, but that didn't go too well, the dust extractor lost a lot of power due to that reduction maybe it was because i did the reduction at the end of the three meter hose maybe i can also attach the reducer directly to the extractor and maybe that will deliver me good suction power. Thank you very much for your thoughts. Sincerely, Bert Klappe
