I have a CNC Piranha 2.0 Watt laser for my HD3 Next Wave Shark. I would like to try and connect it
to the OpenBuilds controller. I have a modified 20 pin ribbon cable that use to connect to 5 pins inside
my Next Wave controller. Next Wave did not include documentation on what the 5 pins connect to inside the controller. I figure 1 is ground, 1 is power and one is for the PWM, the other 2 I have no idea. Any ideas on
how I can figure out where these 5 wires go? I am also hoping that the 3.8 Watt post processor will work with my unit. Any ideas would be great. Thank you.

Also the pins from left to right are Yellow, Green, White, Black, and Red. If you go to their website it looks like there are
only 3 wires and they are Red, Green and Blue. It looks like only 3 wires not 5.

I looked for more info on their website, but they do not seem very forthcoming with documentation. I could not find a schematic or instructions for wiring one.

If I had to guess, the other wires may be for a temperature sensor, and maybe one for a fan to cool the diode. But since they couldn't make this information easy to find I am just guessing. You may have to request it from them, or maybe they provided it with the product when you purchased it.

Thank you for trying. I knew that it was a long shot, but maybe someone is out there that has done this or has information on how a laser
works can may be able to tell me how to wire it up.

I like their concept of mounting in the collet. I may need to whip up a mount like that for mine.

If you need pictures of the laser I can do that for you.
