First post. I finished my Lead 1515 build, got everything running smooth, and built up a small dust collection system. I got an IOT relay, but can't connect it per the instructional video. My blackbox did not come with a 4-pin toolhead connector (see attached images), but DID come with a 2-pin Relay connector (again, see images). Can I connect the IOT relay to the 2-pin Relay on the blackbox? If so, what Gcode commands would activate it? Thanks in advance.
If that is a picture of your blackbox it does have a toolhead connector, or do you mean it doesn't have the four pin connector to plug into it? Alex.
Here is how you connect the IOT to the blackbox. docs:blackbox:connect-dewalt-iotrelay [OpenBuilds Documentation] Technically, you should be able to use the 2 pin if you look at the wiring diagram in the link.
You should be able to use the two. You need PWM and Ground and they are conveniently right next to each other. Just be ABSOLUTELY sure you put the right wires in the right spot so you do not damage the BlackBox. From the link I posted above:
So set the jumper as shown below and use w M3 & M5? Also - How do I access the jumpers? Just unscrew the cover?
Tried it, and nothing. Troubleshooting that all yielded nothing: 1. Jumper completely off. 2. Jumper on M3/M5, wires "normal" (left to left, right to right) 3. Jumper on M3/M5, wire reversed 4. Jumper on M8/M9, wires "normal" (left to left, right to right) 5. Jumper on M8/M9, wires reversed 6. Changed wire, repeated 1-5, nothing I can hear the relay in the BB click when the appropriate command is sent, but it doesn't change the state of the IOT power supply. I'm out of ideas.
I did check one more thing, voltage across the relay connector & each leg to ground. Zero volts regardless of position. Should there be a voltage if either open or closed?
No need to move everything around and try a bunch of combos. Just wire it as shown in the docs. You should get around 5V on the grnd to pwm connection. If not, you may need to open a support ticket. Support And I have to mention the following since it happens often.... Make sure the router is plugged into one of the normally OFF sockets. Make sure the router switch is in the on position.
Wire it exactly as shown in docs:blackbox:connect-dewalt-iotrelay [OpenBuilds Documentation] As mentioned above as well, please don't try random other wiring setups just because - if its not documented, it's not the right way. If your wiring experiments damage your BlackBox your warranty will not cover your mistakes: See OpenBuilds Warranty and note: If you accidentally misplaced the Plug, you can order additional connectors from Xtension Connector Sets If it truly was missing from your order, contact the Store you purchased it from and alert them that there were missing items so they can resolve it for you.
I messaged the Openbuilds shop about the missing connectors, waiting on a reply. Is it documented anywhere that they're supposed to be supplied with the Blackbox? If so, I didn't see it.
I did nothing to the jumpers. There is nothing that I could see in the instructions I linked that mentions doing anything to the jumper. The 1 minute and 30 second long video shows everything you need to do.
