I have successfully built my 1515 CNC and it does what it's supposed to but that is as far as I can go, I do not know how to resurface spoil board or even how to complete Hello World project I have watched the video for Hello world but I'm not sure what I'm doing. I am disappointed that I can't call a 1-800 number for help or advice
Where did you get stuck on the Hello World file? Did you do each step along with the video? As for surfacing your spoilboard, did you try to do it with the "surfacing wizard" in openbuilds Control? You should be able to choose the 1515 as your machine profile and it should be pretty straightforward. Other than the Hello World file, what were your plans? These are not like 3D printers where you can buy premade files. You need to decide what design software (CAD) you plan to use, then learn how to generate gcode with a CAM software. There is a significant learning curve. That is why CNC operators make a good living. There are lots of good training videos on YouTube, as well.
I have tried updating the software, it says it was successful1.0.332 . I then tried to use the probe feature,it says profile not found as for the hello world I would zero out the bit and when I would run job it would just dive straight down. When I would use the resurface wizard it would say locked out alarm state exceeded travel limit I would then return everything to home power reset try again same thing
Sounds like you skipped a couple steps of https://docs.openbuilds.com/interface That particular error means you skipped step 3.3 Reread the provided documentation and work through all the setup steps Did you remember to load a machine profile first? You entered a larger size into the wizard to surface, than the working area of your machine - or forgot to Home and Zero the job before running it. Soft limits protects the machine against crashes Have an in depth read through both Home · gnea/grbl Wiki and start [OpenBuilds Documentation] first
You can leave it plugged in. The presence or absense of a USB cable on the Blackbox tells it whether its in USB mode (cable connected) or Aux mode (usb cable unplugged). That is discussed in section 2.1.2 of the Interface documentation and in more depth in section 5.1 of the Blackbox documentation. So with USB in and CONTROL running, Interface will boot, complain it cannot find Grbl (rightly so) then go into the Easter egg. CONTROL has more guidance for newbies. INTERFACE is a "i just want to run these jobs" upgrade.
I am going through the steps one at a time, right now I am working with the interface I have got it connected to the Internet but when I go to update firmware this is the message that I get
I then used the USB drive formatted it first then copy the files to it and upload it to the interface here are four pictures in the order of completion
Use method 2 or 3 from the same documentation to update if the online method does not work. Often if there were changes to servers or the running firmware is a bit out of date.
Good, your Probe and Profiles folders are there now, which was part of earlier errors (ie probe file not found) You ran system~1 though which is not a GCODE file. See the Running a Job section of the Interface docs. It has a video too Copy some real jobs onto the USB
With ur help I have cut Hello World and resurfaced a small piece of spoil board. Thanks so much. How do I tram the router. I used a 1 in bit wth %40 overlap but I ha ridges
