Building my 1515 per the video. My eccentrics on my X axis assembly are as tight as they can go, one wheel only is loose, the rest are tight. How do i fix this? Im searching for my calipers but it looks like that wheel may be a fraction smaller than the others?
Loosen all eccentrics fully: Loosen the wheel on the fixed side - the holes has a little play in them - press the wheel inwards before tightening again to ensure the shoulder of the bolt is in contact with the edge of the hole thereby moving the wheel inward just a little. Repeat for all wheels on the fixed side. Now adjust eccentrics.
After a couple of attempts it's a little better, but that wheel can still move without moving the gantry with a minor amount of friction. It is 47 degrees in the garage today if that makes a difference.
If the wheel does measure undersized they would be the right contact yes. Do the measurements, then let them know
After I followed your suggestion it looked like the size of the wheel was not off, but I have not yet found my calipers. I went ahead and finished construction, the loose wheel is the bottommost on the x/z axis double carriage so perhaps won't be an issue, but i can't get it any tighter.
After about 40 hours of running on my Lead1515, one of the wheels on the bottom of the z gantry (for x motion) can no longer be adjusted so that it is tight. What is the usual fix, new wheel, new eccentric, ?? Thanks
Unless the tyre is damaged there's some play in the holes for the screw holding the wheel to the plates. Loosen the eccentric fully, loosen the screw acting as an axle for the wheel, push the wheel against the V-slot, retighten the "axle" screw, adjust the eccentric. Alex.
